Your favourite weekly pick up is ten years old and to celebrate our anniversary special is available across north Hampshire.
We want to thank all our readers and advertisers for their continued support and look forward to celebrating many great moments in the next decade.
The Observer was launched on April 13 in 2000 and quickly became synonymous with supporting the residents of Basingstoke and Deane.
To this day, the Observer continues to be an important voice in the borough.
In 2003, the company was bought by Milestone PLC and in September 2006 was sold to current chief executive Howard Taylor.
This week, we celebrate our 10-year anniversary and continue to pioneer new media technologies. You can now find the Observer on Facebook and Twitter, as well as at over 160 outlets across the region. It is also delivered door-to-door in specific areas of the borough.
To celebrate this milestone we have made the first ever issue of the Observer available for you to read online. Using our fantastic page-turning technology you can flip through the pages as if you had a printed copy in your hand, and zoom in on articles of interest. Celebrating the occasion, Howard Taylor, chief executive of Trimedia Publishing, said: “A big thanks to our readers and advertisers for supporting Basingstoke's independent free newspaper over the last 10 years. We hope you enjoy this 10th anniversary issue where we look back at some of the stories that hit the headlines and the events that made the news over the last decade.”
