Town set for beer festival

A three-week beer festival returns to Basingstoke this month at two town centre boozers.

Lloyds No. 1 Bar, in Festival Place and The Maidenhead Inn, in Winchester Street, will feature up to 50 beers from across the globe with a number specially brewed for the occasion.

Fine tipples from South Africa, Holland, America and more will be featured.

Lloyds No 1. Bar manager, Chris Reich, commented: “The festival will give people the opportunity to enjoy a superb selection of UK and international beers, many of which have not been served in the pub before. It promises to be great fun and I am certain that my customers will enjoy themselves.”

The festival runs from Wednesday, April 7 till Sunday, April 25 and all beers are priced from £1.79 to £1.99 a pint.
