Slovakian sniper Ondrej Lauko bagged his 100th point of the season as Basingstoke Bison beat Peterborough Phantoms 5-1 at Planet Ice.
A crowd of well over 1,000 came to watch the Herd return to home form with a comfortable win over their lacklustre opponents.Lauko helped himself to a hat-trick for the Herd, who were forced to shuffle the pack with a couple of injuries to key players.
Quickfire goals from Lauko and Mindy Kieras put Bison two up with five minutes played and that was how it stayed until the first buzzer.After the restart Ollie Bronnimann made it 3-0 and the rest of the match belonged to Lauko, who claimed his second and third of the day to round off a fantastic evening for Steve Moria’s Herd.
The team travelled to Peterborough for the reverse fixture on Sunday night and left with a hard-fought 6-4 win.Lauko was once again among the scorers with Shaun Thompson and Andy Hemmings also netting.
