Bear's for hospice children

BisonLogo-10BASINGSTOKE Bison Hockey Club's game against Bracknell on Saturday will feature a special event in aid of charity.

The home game face-off  will feature a teddy bear toss event in aid of Naomi House.

When Bison net their first goal, fans will throw a teddy they bought along to the game onto the ice.

Supporters are asked that any bears destined for the rink are placed in a plastic bag with the conformance mark 'CE' tag on it.

Herd continue table charge

RugbyBasingstoke Bison's winning streak continued over the weekend with a double victory against Swindon Wildcats.

The Herd's four-point haul gives them a five-point buffer in fourth place in the ice hockey premier league and they trail one point behind Slough Jets with a game in hand.

The double-header saw the Bison rack up 11 goals against Swindon.

On Saturday, away at Swindon, the Bison won 5-3, with Victor Kubenko netting his second hat- trick of the season.

Phoenix fail to rise after Bison mauling

Week46-SkinnsBasingstoke Bison quenched the Phoenix’s fire,  winning both double-header fixtures at the weekend

The Herd went into weekend needing victories to keep their hopes of a top four league finish alive.

Two brilliant displays saw the Basingstoke side take home four points against table-topping Manchester Phoenix.

Bison fail to snuff out flames

icehockeyIce hockey fans were treated to a 21-goal scoring fest when the Bison faced Guildford Flames on Saturday and then Bracknell Bees the following day.

Despite notching up six goals, the Herd could not overhaul the Flames’ seven-goal tally in the first clash. The Bison took on the Flames in a packed Basingstoke arena on the Saturday. The home side were hoping to end the visitors’ unbeaten league record.

Sunday revenge for Bison

BisonLogo-10Bison’s second match of their weekend double-header against Slough Jets took place on Sunday at the Slough Ice Arena.

The Herd were determined to make amends for their 3-2 loss on penalties against Slough the night before.

Revenge is what they got with a last minute goal to win 2-1.
