Basingstoke Town finally ended their five-month winless streak on home soil with a 1-0 win over play-off hopefuls Bath City.

Frank Gray’s side have looked better at home in recent weeks and were unlucky to lose at The Camrose four days earlier but managed to turn a performance into points with a solid display on Saturday.

Former Nigerian international Benedict Akewbu, on as a sub, was instrumental in the winner, which was grabbed by Josh Webb.
