British duo undone at Wimbledon

Josh Goodall’s assault on the Wimbledon doubles competition came to an end on Friday with a straight sets loss to former finalists. The Basingstoke ace teamed up with fellow Brit Jamie Delgado faced Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi, beaten finalists in 2003, but were comfortably beaten 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.

The number four seeds dominated from the off, breaking Delgado’s first service game and the result never looked in doubt from then on. Goodall worked hard in the Friday heat and maintained a 100% service record on his games. Unfortunately it was not enough to fire the all British pairing through.
