Fury finish Buffalo string of wins

BASINGSTOKE Buffalo  ended their high scoring run of wins with a 5-2 away loss at Romford Fury.

The short-benched Buffalo travelled with 13 of their normal 20-strong squad. Missing from the lineup were youngsters Ryan Sutton, Carmeron Wynn, who was on Bison duty, and Chris Beal.

The Fury opened the scoring after six minutes with Matt Brown netting past Ashley Skinns in the Buffalo net.

A minute later Brown doubled the scoring with a Sam Roberts assisted strike. Before the first buzzer the Buffalo’s Matt Lawday pulled one back scoring past netminder Merv Tasker.

A minute into the second period Mel Bidder made it 3-1 but 30 seconds later veteran Greg Martyn netted for the Buffalo.

The Fury sealed the game in the third period with Matt Brown taking his hat trick after 45 minutes, followed shortly afterwards by Jake Pitchley.

On Sunday the Buffalo take on the Isle of Wight-based Wightlink Tigers at home.
