Cricket friendly

Odiham and Greywell Cricket Club is set to get their first taste of action ahead of the new season with a friendly against Farncombe on Saturday.

The first team squad was due to play RAF Odiham 1sts on Saturday, but the game was cancelled due to rain.

Elsewhere, the second string side are scheduled to face Whitchurch at home on Sunday.

Collard and Foster in action

Hook racers Rob Collard, and Nick Foster will be in action at Hampshire circuit Thruxton this weekend.

The pair are competing in the third round of the British Touring Car Championship.

BMW West Surrey Racing driver Collard will hope to top his previous outing at Donnington were he narrowly missed out on a podium slot.

He finished 10th in race one, eigth in race two, and crossed over in fourth in the final race.

Collard sits fourth in the driver standings, while teammate Foster lies 14th.

League action

Tadley Calleva and Whitchurch United were both in action at the weekend.

Whitchurch faced Cowes Sports away on Saturday, and missed out on points going down 2-1 to high-flying Cowes Sports.

Sub Andrew Charsley netted for the Jam Boys, but a Darren Williams brace proved too much for the visitors.

Whitchurch remain eighth in the Syndenham’s Wessex Division table.

Stoke run in big win

Basingstoke RFC bounced back from missing out on a promotion slot by ending their season with a high-scoring win against Haywards Heath on Saturday.

Basingstoke ran in seven tries away from home, beating the league strugglers 41-5.

The Down Grange side end their London 1 South campaign fourth in the league after 26 games, two points adrift of Chichester, and 25 points clear of Hove.
