Relegation worries for RFC

Basingstoke_RFCBasingstoke RFC have slipped into the relegation zone following their defeat away to derby rivals Bracknell.

The Down Grange side lie third from bottom, trailing one point behind Tring, but three ahead of North Walsham, who have a game in hand.

The loss is a disappointment for coach Junior Paramore, who saw his squad trump Bracknell 23-16 earlier in the season.

A poor first half performance meant that ’Stoke were unable to come back, leaving the score 23-16 by full time.

Brave showing from 'Stoke RFC

Basingstoke_RFCBasingstoke Rugby Club failed to get their 2011 campaign off to a winning start by narrowly losing out to Barnes on Saturday

The Down Grange side lost out 20-27 at home to their London opponents in the National 3 London and Southeast league.

But Junior Paramore’s men should be able to take a lot away from the closely fought match against third in the table Barnes.

RFC game called of at Havant

BasingstokeRFCLogoThe weekends Arctic blast saw Down Grange covered in several inches of snow calling off Basingstoke RFC's home game against Havant on Saturday. 

Junior Paramore's men were not alone as all games in the National Three and South East League were called off.

The Hampshire derby was called off on Friday after the rock-solid pitch was deemed unsuitable for play.

Further misery for 'Stoke

6768Things could not get any worse for Basingstoke Rugby Club following a second massive defeat on the trot.

Last week, the Down Grange side suffered a humiliating 0-64 scoreline against Hertford.

And on Saturday, Basingstoke lost 7-87- away to Dorking.
