Staff at North Hampshire Clinical Care Group (CCG) got to ‘shake it off’ as part of national workout at work day.
The day promotes the importance of staff health and wellbeing and the 45 staff at the CCG’s headquarters on Chineham Business Park in Basingstoke took part in posture checks, were given advice on desk-based exercise and a fun tai chi session.
Dr Nicola Decker, GP and clinical chair at the CCG, said: “Our workout at work event was a great way for us to encourage our staff to improve their health and take more exercise.
“It’s easy to forget that frequent exercise and set sequences of movements and stretches, some of which can even be taken while sitting at your desk, can help enormously with your health and well-being.
“We will certainly encourage all the staff at the CCG to keep the momentum that the day has given us all.”
Physiotherapists Mandy Pike and Marie-Clare Wadley, joint chairs of Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) south central regional network, who promote national workout at work day, led the activities for the CCG staff.
Mandy said: “We were delighted with the response, with staff members making the most of the opportunity to find out how they can improve their posture while at their desk.”
