Milestones Play Day

Hopping Good Fun This Easter

IT’S shaping up to be a fun Easter with Hampshire Cultural Trust creating a range of events for all the family.

Some of the events that will be running at their museums, galleries and arts centres, can be found right on our doorstep.

Enjoy fun and games through the years at Milestones Museum. Start your visit with traditional fairground features like hoopla and hook the duck, then wander along the Milestones Pier and see how arcade games have transformed through time, from penny machines to Pac-Man.

Head to the Baverstock Arms, Milestones’ working pub, for skittles, quoits, dominoes and more, then learn how board games gained a boost in popularity in WWII and try out family favourites yourself.

On Milestones’ cobbled streets there’ll be classic street games to try (without the worry of modern traffic!), and if the weather is fine, you can head outside for even more games and surprises and don’t forget to join in with the Easter trail.

Why not pop over to the Easter Extravaganza at the Willis Museum and Sainsbury Gallery. Brick by Brick is an exhibition of work by visual artists from around the world who use LEGO® bricks as their medium or inspiration.

You can also enjoy a Crafty Easter at the same venue where there will be the opportunity to: make an egg from clay or create your own headband inspired by spring creatures; make a corgi plant pot as part of the celebrations for Her Majesty’s birthday; try crafts inspired by Earth Day. Older children can make their own ecosystem light while under 5s can make a commemorative handprint craft.

In Alton, there is Easter fun at the Allen Gallery where Judith Venn will be running a Craft Workshop and where you can also explore the gallery on an Easter Trail or make a LEGo Dodo.

You can also enjoy an Easter Trail at the Curtis Museum in Alton.
