BASINGSTOKE and District Disability Forum (BDDF) are celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee this half term with the return of their annual Scarecrow Trail community event.
Pop down to Chineham and Sherfield Park from 28 May to 5 June and see if you can spot the fifty displays themed around A Moment in History..
Chineham Shopping Centre retailers are joining in the fun this year, see if you can spot the scarecrows hiding in stores to complete the mini trail.
You can purchase your raffle tickets now for the scarecrow draw with prizes worth over £1000 - including a magnum of champagne, golf for four, designer sunglasses, and afternoon tea - all donated by local businesses.
You can buy your map for the event at Chineham Christ Church on Saturday 28 May from 10am until 4pm and enjoy a Jubilee tea party and Bake Off competition. On Sunday 29 May again from 10am until 4pm, pick up your map from Sherfield Park Community Centre, there will be lots of family activities on offer from face painting and tombolas to a petting zoo and singing princess. Pop Up and Play have bookable sessions throughout the weekend.
If you can’t make it down over the weekend, maps will be available online at www.bddf.org.uk so you can still stretch your legs or hop on your bike to enjoy all the imaginative displays throughout half term.
You can follow the event on Facebook @bddfscarecrowtrail. Remember to vote for your favourites as well as funniest and most imaginative displays, with coveted trophies available for the winners.
All proceeds will go to BDDF.
