Half Term Family Fun

MAY half term is shaping up to be quite the fun-filled time.

Events are taking place all over the county at Hampshire Cultural Trust’s (HCT) museums, arts centres and galleries, so whether you are visiting for Jubilee fun in Alton or travelling back to the 1940s in Basingstoke, there is something for all the family to enjoy.

Local events include: 1940s Week at Milestones Museum. What did the Queen do in WWII? Step back in time to the 1940s to find out and take part in fun activities for all ages. Enjoy a Jubilee trail, re-enactments, make do and mend displays, food-tasting, music and dancing. Join in the fun by coming in costume, too.

Jubilee fun at the Allen Gallery Alton, enjoy a Jubilee trail by exploring the gallery and complete a special trail to receive a prize or decorate your own wooden crown.

Corgis and crowns will be at the Willis Museum and Sainsbury Gallery. Create a corgi plant pot to take away and paint to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Why not hunt the Crown Jewels museum trail? The Queen has lost the Crown Jewels! Help her hunt for them all over the museum and collect the letters to spell out a secret word.

Enjoy a fairy door trail at Basing House by following the fairy door trail around the grounds of Basing House or a Jubilee Jewels trail at the Curtis Museum in Alton.

All dates, times and prices along with other HCT events across Hampshire can be found online at: hampshireculture.org.uk.
