A JUBILEE Feast starring celebrity cooks Phil Vickery and Lesley Waters was at the heart of Festival Place’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations over the long Bank Holiday weekend.
Over three days of celebrations against a backdrop of great British decorations, crowds gathered to see the popular TV chefs cook up some delicious treats in Porchester Square, enjoyed creative Jubilee crafting, viewed a community postcard art exhibition, and took part in exciting South Asian dance and music workshops.
As part of the feast, This Morning chef Phil Vickery and TV chef and cookery school owner Lesley Waters demonstrated a selection of great British dishes with a Jubilee twist, including a Platinum platter of vodka and blood orange smoked salmon, and a Jubilee rhubarb and custard crown.
Sian Fisher, Events and Community Manager at Festival Place, said: “There is always a great buzz when we hold our annual foodie event, and this year’s Jubilee Feast really was fit for a Queen. The crowds loved Phil and Lesley and had lots of questions for them as they demonstrated some of their favourite dishes. Our retailers serving highlights from their menus at a special British high tea table was a brilliant – and tasty – way for visitors to discover more about the fantastic cuisine from around the globe that they can find all under one roof. The Feast was the perfect highlight of a long weekend packed full of colourful workshops, fun crafting and great art projects, all created to show our community support for the Jubilee celebrations.”
