Basingstoke ObserverSUMMER is looking bright for one lucky local after scooping a prize thanks to online competitions company BOTB.
Nathan Jones, 31, was left speechless when BOTB’s Sean Hall turned up at his front door to tell him that as this week’s Midweek Lifestyle Winner he’s not only £15,000 richer but he’s also heading off on a luxury holiday to the Caribbean.
The father of two, who paid just 70p for his ticket to enter, explained he’s not been on holiday for five years: “I don’t believe it, this is crazy! We’ve had a tricky few years with Covid and family issues, this money will help us get back on our feet.”
Nathan is a single father to two young boys and although currently unemployed, he is trained as a fibre optics engineer.
“We all celebrated our birthdays in May,” he added. “But we didn’t have much money to celebrate, I think some late birthday presents are definitely in order. My car has recently broken down, too, so the cash will come in handy for that. I’m thinking about getting a campervan for us to use for holidays.”
Sean, who is part of the team surprising BOTB winners each week, said: “Nathan sounds like a really deserving winner and I was thrilled to be the one to give him the good news. He sounds like he has some great plans for the cash!”
